I saw Billy Jack in 1971 in Louisville KY during a wneeked high school trip with classmates and some teachers and parents who were our trip chaperones. I think I cried for about an hour. Only 2 other film endings ever came close to making me feel so deeply sad and angry simultaneously Born on the Fourth of July and Dances With Wolves. Recently while flipping TV channels late at night, I saw a girl in a pixie haircut wearing a white bikini and white go-go boots and riding a white motorcycle. I checked online and was surprised to learn that The Born Losers was the first of the Billy Jack films. A couple of days later I noticed the new DVDs of all of the Billy Jack films at the public library, so now I am watching each of them and then rewatching to hear the behind-the-scenes stories on each of the commentary tracks. It affected me deeply to see the quiet love of Billy Jack and Jean portrayed all those years ago, but it's even more inspiring to hear the love and admiration expressed on those commentary tracks by Tom and Delores and their son Frank for each other and so many colleagues who worked with them. Thanks for sharing your passion and commitment.Current score: 1(Please enable JavaScript to vote.)a0a0(vote for this entry) http://ykmqtwzp.com onbeqpovg [link=http://lmkzvsri.com]lmkzvsri[/link] Uploaded by Shinta Mar 25, 2015
I was watching TV with my fahter when he came across a station that was starting a new movie. We waited to see what the movie was and when my fahter saw that it was Billy Jack , he kept it on that channel and told me to get ready for a damn good time . I was not sure what he meant until Tom's first scene. I stopped breathing. I was awestruck. It was love at first sight. I was 10 (28 now). I sat and watched the movie with my dad hating the commercials. I not only fell in love with Tom but also Delores. She became my secret mentor/idol. I loved her passion for a cause. I loved her non violent heart. I bought my fahter the Billy Jack DVD's for Christmas this past year. I borrowed them the day after I had given them to him and have yet to return them. I watch them all the time. I don't watch one. I watch all in a row. Thank you to your parents for setting me on a course that would make my life worth living. I help who I can, I teach who I can, I love who I can, and I pass it on every single day.Current score: 0(Please enable JavaScript to vote.)a0a0(vote for this entry) Uploaded by Caroline Mar 24, 2015
I first saw Billy Jack in 1971-1972. I saw this movie several times, with a large group of friedns I didn't realize at the time what an impact this would have on my high school years or on my future life. The Vietnam war was a few years from being over, we believed in free thought, free love and equality for everyone, and we were willing to stand by our convictions. All of the kids I went to see this movie with found a teacher that thought the Free school sounded like a great idea and over the course of the next year we designed a school much like the one in Billie Jack. It was called Malt, Mesa's Alternative School, located in Costa Mesa, CA. We were a school within a school (Costa Mesa High School), we designed our own curriculum and learned what we thought was important and relevant to our lives. Our Teachers were no longer just teachers they were our advisor our friedns and share ideas and their thoughts with us. Like the Movie, many of us in this school were into music, art and drama, so history could easily be a drama class, English a music class and science or Math an art class. We were a group of people that just wanted to learn in a different creative way. I have held this school and thought process in my heart since then. I (we) owe it all the Movie Billie Jack.Current score: 0(Please enable JavaScript to vote.)a0a0(vote for this entry) http://nyinsjlyvn.com wwfiewo [link=http://ipakmbe.com]ipakmbe[/link] Uploaded by Ayelen Mar 22, 2015
I loved your movies when I saw them as a kid.I got saved in colelge and, as a NATURAL result became a WONDERFUL conservative republican. So my political views are very different than they were in the 70 s.For example, I OPPOSE gay marriage 100% and can't wait to see Barack Obama NOT get re-elected.Nonetheless, these are STILL great films. Well, Billy Jack is at least. Never saw the sequels back then and only bits and pieces contemporaneously.Billy Jack is one of the FIVE ALL time great movie heroes. There are sooo many great lines -I really wish you wouldAnd then I'm gonna kill you. Just.Like.That.C'mon Bernard You get to chooseetc etc etcCan't wait to see it fully restored (esp the sound) in HD on Cable. You guys are doing the EXACT right thing. Letting your dad continue on with his dream of creating a new Billy Jack (irrespective or whether or not that ever happens) whilst you shrewdly and wisely market the existing film inventory.I'm shocked at how many people, including left wingers, mock and deride this film. They have ABSOLUTELY no idea how seminal it truly was. And, I'm speaking purely in terms of content. The other stuff about pioneering distribution etc are too much inside baseball for me.God Bless You!BDCurrent score: 0 (Please enable JavaScript to vote.)a0a0(vote for this entry)
